This week in History we have been making freeze frames of ancient greek battles. We had to pretend to have either a spear, a sword, a shield, a chest plate or a helmet and talk about how good each weapon would have been in battle.
In English we are learning about poetry. We looked at puns and riddles. We had to match up puns which were a play on words, for example: Where do polar bears vote? At the North Polling station! We are going to write our own puns and riddles soon.
WOW! Eve and Hannah it sounds like you have been having great fun this week in Year 3. Maybe you could come and share some of your puns and riddles with Year 1, I’m sure they would love to hear them.
Miss Davies
That would be fantastic Miss Davies! I am sure that it will motivate all the children to show off their poetry
Wow! The Greek battles sound like great fun! ‘Drama Queen’ Caitlin has loved doing these freeze frames – they are great for improving her drama skills!
I’m glad she has been enjoying them – she is excellent at Drama and has great ideas
I really enjoyed doing the freeze frame! It was hilarious!
That’s great Lucas, you all looked very ferocious – I’m glad I didn’t live in ancient Greece. I probably would have been thrown off a cliff for being weak like the Spartan babies!
Wish year six could have heard them
Maybe next time we do some drama and poetry we can send the best group to Year 6 to show you all!
Year 3 you are having so much fun in class and doing so much learning at the same time. Well done.
well done Eve and Hannah that was a great blog wish you could do another one looking forward to the next thing on the blog and I’m sure other people will be interested to hear what else is going on in year 3
thanks for the information
